Our Favorite Coffee Table Books
We compiled a list of some of our go-to coffee table books authored by our favorite designers and publishers for an inspired, hygge home. Enjoy!
A Frame for Life - This is one of our all time favorites written by British designer Ilse Crawford. As a design icon, Crawford showcases her influential work and human-centered philosophies for design and living. This hardcover coffee table book is a beautiful design piece for any space with it’s neutral color and embossed spine. A Frame for Life would make a wonderful addition to your hygge library or your coffee table.
Modern Residences - Packed with beautiful photography, Modern Residences captures the understated elegance and hygge in a selection of European homes. This book is a must-have for anyone looking for minimalism and modernism design inspiration.
Still: The Slow Home - This hardcover coffee table book, by Natalie Walton, encourages readers to take on the slow movement: living sustainably, local, organic, and whole. Still speaks on the importance of not only the physical structures we choose to live in, but the surrounding environment and the effect it can have on our general happiness and wellbeing. Adding hygge to your space, whether it’s your physical home or your everyday environment, is a great way to start living the slow movement.
Belgian Masters: Contemporary Architecture and Interior Design - This hardcover interior design and contemporary architecture book offers readers a collection of photographs featuring Belgian’s best architects and interior designers. Belgian Masters: Contemporary Architecture and Interior Design makes an excellent addition for a growing design-focused library, as well as a beautiful decor piece for your coffee table or entry table with its large format.
Axel Vervoordt: Portrait of Interiors - Portrait of Interiors explores the search for balance between architecture, nature, and art. Axel Vervoordt’s coffee table book about the oasis of home, includes photographs from seventeen projects across the world. These homes showcase timeless interiors and environments of self-reflection and inspiration. One of our all time favorites and a book that we find ourselves coming back to time and time again.
St. Moritz Chic - Transport yourself to Switzerland’s alpine Engadin Valley, with St. Moritz Chic. In St. Moritz, creatives and royals share skiwassers slope-side on the sheepskin benches of El Paradiso, sip champagne on long strolls around its frozen, crystalline lake, and enjoy coffee and confections at the centuries old Hanselmann. With summer around the corner, the exterior pops of color on this coffee table book and the entire Assouline Travel Collection are sure to brighten any space.
St. Tropez Solei - Let’s travel to the south of France with one of our favorites, St. Tropez Solei. This playful and bright coffee table book guides the reader through the storied past and ever-changing future of St. Tropez. Featuring annual mainstays such as Les Bravades and the Les Voiles de Saint-Tropez as well as exclusive events like a Chanel fashion show at the quintessentially Tropezian Sénéquier café. It seems the sun is always shining in St. Tropez, so we will enjoy this book until we can cross this city off our bucket list.
Dwell, Gather, Be: Design for Moments - If you want to read more about our story and learn how to design for moments, Dwell, Gather, Be is a home library must-have. Hygge Life owner, Alexandra Gove, shows the reader that thoughtful, intentional design can positively impact your home and allow you to cultivate meaningful moments.
Books bring a personalized touch to any space and add an element of life, inspiration and richness to a coffee table. The books on this list and in our showroom all feature gorgeous, hardcover exteriors and inspiring large-format design photos on the interior pages, making them perfect for stacking or opening to a page that inspires.
